SolarisTech provides independent technical analysis, casualty and root cause investigation and written reporting for law firms, P&I clubs and insurers. Reports state their scope, their sources and their limits, separate observation from inference, and carry a named reviewer.
SolarisTech is instructed as an independent technical adviser, and accepts instructions from either side.
How We Help
Independent technical analysis and report writing that holds up when the other side reads it. Engagements are led by our founder, and every report names the reviewer who wrote it. Evidence, sources and limits are recorded on the face of the document.

- Independent technical analysis and written opinion on classification practice, flag State practice, ISM, ISPS, MLC and statutory certification.
- Casualty attendance and root cause investigation, with evidence recorded and preserved so it is available later. Attendance is subject to availability and location. Where we cannot attend in time we say so at first contact and help you instruct a local surveyor.
- Document and records review for disputes. Every document and image in the instructed bundle is reviewed, not a sample. The scope is the bundle, not the whole vessel.
- Screening of a document bundle through Nautilux at the start of an instruction. Upload typically takes one to two hours through the secure portal, and for a complete submission received early in the working day we aim to return the reviewed result the same working day.
- Support to counsel and claims handlers in building technical chronologies, questions for the other side, and areas of challenge.
- Reports written to be read by opposing counsel: stated scope, stated method, stated limits, named reviewer.
- SolarisTech is instructed as an independent technical adviser. Appointment as an expert witness, and the form of any report or declaration required by a court or tribunal, is a matter for the instructing party.
Our reports are prepared for the party that instructs us and for the purpose stated in the engagement. Reliance by any other party requires our written agreement.
